In a recent interview, Tim Berners-Lee, answers a series of questions around Internet. Regarding the neutrality of networks, he notably explains:  I refuse any intrusion on my Internet traffic. When I do something, perhaps of very intimate: when somebody searches information to know if he has the cancer, or that a teenager wonders if he is homosexual or not and searches an answer on the net, it must remain private  . And in question  do you Consider the access to Internet to be a basic right?  , the co-inventor of World Wide Web answers:

There are many things which allow to say that it is a right. Yes, it is a right which comes after the water, but to disconnect the whole family would be " an unusual and cruel punishment ", what is unconstitutional in the United States.

[Express] ACTA: What are we signing up to, Mr Power?

In its turn, Peter Dunne, member of the New Zealand United Future House of Representatives, of the political party, calls the government to give details on the international negotiations of ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement). He so declared.

There is a lot of guess-work about the contents of ACTA and what they mean for protection and respect for intellectual property and for copyright here in New Zealand. The veil of secrecy which encircles the contents of agreement ACTA causes a lot of concerns, not only here but also among other implicated nations. He is in the public interest that the government is as transparent as possible on ACTA. A simple disclosure of terms and of text of the negotiations of ACTA would dispel any displaced concern while giving to the New Zealanders the occasion to express the concerns which they can have.

The daily of evening (taken back since by Expansion), explains that the document raises to it  political leanings and strategical, for 2010, of the industry of the disc, notably the installation of calibrated quick-witted answer.  The point of swing was attained in 2008, when France and the United Kingdom showed the way by asking the providers to help them to control piracy  , brings back the newspaper, naming IFPI.

[Express] Antivirus: Obligation of means or of results?

United in Laval, international experts of offensive computer security devoted themselves to a small competition of deactivation of ant-virus. They had at disposition of computers working under Windows, identical to those of the individuals. The proof of their success: non-detection by the antivirus of a conventional viral attack supposed to be discerned.
Balance sheet: some minutes were enough for deactivating six antiviruses most sold in the world:

- MCAFEE: 1 min 56s
- Norton: 4 min
- GDATA: 5 min
- AVG: 15 min
- NOD32: 33 min
- Kaspersky: 40 min

The present antiviruses on the market are far too much vulnerable  comment on the site of ESIEA, on engineers' School at the origin of the congress. To note that the organizers find it difficult to persuade the experts to participate in this competition. Only two of forty accepted. The law of 2004 on confidence in numerical economy is too vague on this point A person can be potentially followed if she manages to deactivate an antivirus , , one of the co-organizers of the congress.

[Express] Christine Albanel charged with mission on struggle counters the piracy of books)

On November 20th, ancient minister of Culture Christine Albanel received a letter of the prime minister Fran ois Fillon loading it with a mission on the numeration of books and struggle counters the piracy of contents in edition. Strong in her  "experience"  on HADOPI who led her in some way to be thanked for the government last June she will have to value notably the measures of protection and of dissuasion to be implemented in edition.

Two missions for the same subject? It is the question which settles when they know that mid-October, Frederick Mitterrand entrusted a similar mission to Mark Tessier, former president of France Televisions and current Future managing director of Video. Conclusions of which should be returned some time in December.

The ancient minister  has fought for long weeks to come back in the political arena  explains The Barber. According to the newspaper, it is about a precondition which should lead the ancient minister to take back the reins of the national Library of France (BNF) following Bruno Racine whose mandate ends in April, 2010. And it is just in April when Christine Albanel will have to return her conclusions around three axles: the  sensitisation to the European Commission and European ministers loads with it Culture  ,  the adaptation of the sector of edition to the struggle against piracy of its contents  and development " very fast " of numerical lawful offer in this sector. Political ski jump perhaps, but seen context, the file has nothing of a sinecure.

[Express]  The net, sad distributor of this weapon of massive disinformation

On his blog (on Post), Jacques S gu la recommends to the  "cyber-community" to issue his Charter of Rights (and of duties) of the net  . Naming Alain Duhamel (who  reports a machine to fabricate debates  ), the advertising agent describes the net as the space of  mood rumour  and where " tricks  are  thrown to the lions in the  popular condemnation , and  everything shares without proscription  .

The net is the nicest invention of the com (I take the liberty of judging her only in this domain) and also the most republican. By allowing to all men to communicate between them, ( ) it is the leaven of equality. Freedom stays. That's where the shoe pinches. Freedom exists only if she respects laws, her established rules, public morality, and first of all Other one.

And this extraordinary machine to construct the new world has power in her to self-destruct. To let information become desinformation, creation, derision, mood rumour, criticism gossip, the caricature smudge, she will end up losing any credibility.

And this other media drift which makes the net, brilliant inventor of communication without borders, without timetable, without barrier, the sad distributor of this weapon of massive disinformation: the soundbite taken out from its context, the soundbite which kills, that he spreads more quickly still that the virus of influenza A..

[Express]  If you make a leader - of work, it will be pirated, but the public will go nevertheless to see it in room

Interviewed in SVM MAC of this month (December, 2009), the film director Matthieu Kassovitz notably comes back on law Creation and Internet. PC INPACT there delivers extracts today. Selection:

In the debate on HADOPI, across the Senate and the National Assembly, industry wanted to get the message: if you love the artists, do not pirate . But it is not the artists who take full the face. They lose little, but they remain very well paid. HADOPI protects only industry.

There are films which do not pirate. This would have no interest to see Mishap without relief. The films of Jaoui and Bacri are not either concerned: they contact a public who does not pirate. And finally, blockbusters as Spiderman do not live any more on entries in rooms, but on the sale of derivative products. As soon as a film is amortised, it should become free. Instead of making suppression, offer should be improved and to make it accessible to all. .

If you make a leader - of work, he will be pirated, but the public will go nevertheless to see him in room .
