Yahoo, Flickr and Microsoft set up systems of blockage and of filtration to prevent the Indian internauts from achieving contents with sexual character, brings back Guardian.
Since last June, the engine Bing of Microsoft filters research results in India (but also in Taiwan or Singapore) on terms having report with sex. To test it, it is enough to go on et to choose "India" in location (what, in passage, the Indian internauts can make in the opposite). A research of "Sex" or "Porno" shows the following message: your country or region requests a strict application of Bing SafeSearch, which filters the results which could include contents for adults .
In their turn, since the beginning of December, the research engine Yahoo and the site of distribution of online photos Flickr (property of Yahoo) block to the Indian internauts the possibility of deactivating . On Flickr, it is so possible to read: If your identifying Yahoo! is based in Singapore, in Hong Kong, in India or in Korea. you will be able to show only the reassured contents determined by the local conditions of use (you will not therefore be able to deactivate SafeSearch). If your identifying Yahoo! is based in Germany you cannot show the contents restrained in accordance with the local conditions of use .
